The Geauga County Sheriff's Office can now pin a Platinum badge to its chest, courtesy of AAA East Central Ohio. The sheriff's office shared the news of receiving the Platinum Award—a token of the highest recognition for its steadfast efforts to put traffic safety first, educate the public, and enforce proactive measures that keep their streets safer than a steel vault.
It's not just the men and women in uniform of the Geauga County receiving a round of applause here, but a whole chorus line of school resource officers, community partners, and local safety organizations all jogging in unison to this motley beat of community safety, or so Sheriff Scott A. Hildenbrand would have us believe, according to the Geauga County Sheriff's Office Sheriff Scott A. Hildenbrand Facebook post. The good sheriff said, "We are proud of the dedicated work of our deputies, school resource officers, community partners, and local safety organizations who help us make these programs possible. Keeping our community safe is truly a team effort."
It's easy to slap on a congratulatory tone and proceed with business as usual, but when AAA East Central hands out these accolades, they aren't just acknowledging the work done, they're laying down a challenge for continuous improvement, a dare to keep up the good work. The Platinum Award, after all, isn't handed out with the regularity of parking tickets—it's reserved for those who display a robust commitment to making sure the wheels on our cars go round and round sans the screech of a fender-bender.
This accolade is sweet music to the ears of a sheriff's office that likely often hums to the tune of distress calls, accident reports, and myriad other not-so-pleasant aspects of keeping a county under its wing; it adds a silver—or should I say, platinum—lining to their commitment to public safety, oh and also, it's a big shiny 'thank you' from the community for the support provided by the boots on the ground and the brains in the strategy room both working endlessly tirelessly for the common good. In celebrating their achievement, the Sheriff's Office did not miss a beat in thanking AAA East Central and the community: "Thank you to AAA East Central for this honor — and thank you to our community for your ongoing support," the Geauga County Sheriff's Office Facebook post read.
