The Nevada County Sheriff's Office has announced a partnership with Gold Rush Subaru, aiming to bolster support for the Sheriff's Humane Emergency Animal Rescue Team (HEART). Gold Rush Subaru, as part of their "Share the Love" event, will allow their customers to direct donations to the Sheriff's HEART, a nonprofit animal rescue organization managed by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office. This initiative runs from November 20, 2025, until January 2, 2026, during which time anyone purchasing or leasing a new Subaru in Auburn may contribute to the charity.

According to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office social media post, HEART responds to emergency situations, including fires and blizzards, to save pets and livestock, and offers emergency sheltering. NCSO Animal Control Supervisor Stefanie Geckler stated, "This partnership is such a special opportunity to continue HEART’s mission of protecting and saving animal lives," highlighting the dependency of HEART on community generosity. Her leadership oversees the operations of a nonprofit that provides emergency aid to animals in crisis.

During the event, Gold Rush Subaru customers can choose to donate to Sheriff’s HEART, one of four national charities selected by Subaru of America. Susan Taylor of Gold Rush Subaru said they are excited to support the group’s mission to help animals in need.

Last year, Sheriff’s HEART handled over 100 calls and rescued 21 animals during the Park Fire in Butte County. People can support their work by donating via Venmo @NevadaCounty-SheriffsHEART or sending a check to 950 Maidu Avenue #280, Nevada City, CA.
