Gov. Greg Abbott announced new appointments to the Texas State Independent Living Council, naming Mollie Witt to a term ending on October 24, 2027. Thompson works in External Affairs for Southwestern Electric Power Company, teaches as an adjunct professor, and has experience on nonprofit boards, including Opportunities, Inc. Both bring backgrounds in business, education, and community work to the council’s efforts to support independent living for Texans with disabilities, as stated by the Office of the Governor.
