Seattleites should brace themselves for a wet week ahead as the National Weather Service has forecasted a string of rainy days with a brief respite now and then. Overnight drizzles could potentially escalate into steadier showers, as "Rain likely" signals the start of the week with a 60% chance of precipitation and less than a tenth of an inch expected, according to NWS Seattle. Temperatures are to hover in the low 50s, with Monday's high projected near 51 degrees and accompanied by a north wind moving at a gentle pace of 3 to 5 mph.
Monday night promises to marginally clear up, but not before offering a 40 percent chance to again experience rain between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. The clouds are expected to make way for partly cloudy skies by Tuesday, albeit with a persistent 40 percent chance of rain. The high for Tuesday is anticipated to be near 49 degrees. Calm winds will prevail into the evening, and there looks to be a cooler low around 40 degrees.
Wednesday's forecast seems slightly more promising with a "Partly sunny" outlook and a high near 52. However, the cycle recommences Wednesday night with NWS predicting a 50 percent chance of rain after 10 p.m. The rain probabilities linger into the weekend, with Thursday and Friday both facing the prospect of rainfall. "Rain likely, mainly after 10am," reads the forecast for Friday, with similar expectations rolling into the weekend.
Saturday through Sunday, the city is to remain under the umbrella of "Rain" with a consistent cloud cover, maintaining the week's trend. The temperatures will peak around the mid-50s during the day, dropping back down to the mid-40s at night. While the less-than-ideal weather might necessitate some adjustments in outdoor plans, the steady pattern signifies a true Seattle autumn firmly in place.
