Last Saturday, Grammy-nominated rapper Jeezy set a Guinness World Record for the largest orchestra to perform at a hip-hop concert, featuring 101 musicians during his Las Vegas residency show, 'Masquerade,' at PH Live in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Andy Glass from Guinness World Records presented Jeezy with the certificate, marking this milestone in music history.
Onstage, Jeezy said, "This isn’t just a win for me—it’s a moment for the culture, for music, and for Vegas," and expressed his gratitude to the team and fans: "Thank you to every musician, every fan, and everyone who believed we could take this all the way. A winner is a dreamer who never gave up!" The concert featured the Color of Noize orchestra, original compositions by Derrick Hodge, and musical direction by Adam Blackstone, with contributions from DJ Drama, DJ Ace, and the fans, as reported by News3LV.
Jeezy has joined other hip-hop artists in collaborating with classical musicians, following Nas and Rick Ross, and set a record with his concert. On Instagram, he said, "It has always been my purpose to motivate and inspire my culture," as per Vice. He will bring a 'The Nutcracker' theme to his December shows in Las Vegas, combining classical Christmas music with hip-hop. Only a few shows remain, and tickets are selling quickly.
