
Authorities descended on Las Potrancas Bar and Hookah in north Harris County for an overnight raid, resulting in the shuttering of the after-hours club. The establishment, notorious for its extended hours and alleged illegal activities, had been selling alcohol from 2 A.M. to 7 A.M., times when such sales are prohibited, "It’s extremely dangerous because at 7 A.M. we have kids going to bus stops, people going to work and people leaving an establishment that’s been drinking all night," HCSO Capt. Mike Santos emphasized in an interview, based on a report by KHOU.
After months of accumulating grievances, ranging from unauthorized liquor transactions to suspected narcotics dealings, the raid was coordinated by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office alongside the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and the Fire Marshal’s Office, actions punctuated by the detainment of four individuals, among them three facing outstanding warrants this according to Click2Houston. These efforts fall within a broader initiative, headed by Santos, targeting notorious sites around Harris County in a bid to mitigate community impact from such establishments.
