U.S. Immigration And Customs Enforcement Houston concluded a 10-day operation from October 22 to October 31, resulting in 1,505 arrests across Southeast Texas. The figure nearly doubled the 822 arrests from August and tripled the 543 recorded earlier this year, including 17 gang members, 40 aggravated felons, and 255 previously deported individuals, according to the U.S. Immigration And Customs Enforcement.
Among those arrested were a convicted murderer and 13 sexual predators, including a Mexican Mafia gang member convicted of raping and impregnating his underage sister. ICE Field Office Director Bret Bradford stated, "Despite the conditions becoming increasingly dangerous for our officers as a result of the spread of violent political rhetoric and intentionally false information, they continue to put their lives at risk every day to apprehend dangerous illegal aliens, gang members, child predators and other violent criminal aliens who threaten public safety here in Southeast Texas," as reported by the U.S. Immigration And Customs Enforcement.
U.S. Immigration And Customs Enforcement Houston announced the arrest of several individuals, including Selvin Joel Lara Diaz, a Mexican Mafia member wanted in Honduras for murder, and Marlon Odir Gomez Hernandez, a suspected MS-13 member who was caught after trying to escape through a washateria ceiling. Most of those arrested had previous removal orders, while others will go through immigration proceedings. The operation involved cooperation with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
