
The National Weather Service in Jacksonville, Florida, has issued a rip current statement extending the high rip current risk for Northeast Florida beaches, including Coastal Nassau, Coastal Duval, Coastal Flagler, Northeast Coastal St. Johns, and Southeast Coastal St. Johns counties. The advisory is in effect through late tonight. According to the NWS, dangerous rip currents are expected in these areas.
In Jacksonville, the forecast calls for sunny skies with humidity around 93%, becoming partly cloudy tonight. Conditions are expected to continue through the end of the week, with daytime highs in the low 80s and lower nighttime temperatures.
For Veterans Day, sunny weather is expected with a high near 59 degrees. The rip current warning remains in effect for Northeast Florida’s coastal waters. The NWS advises swimmers not to swim against the current and to swim parallel to the shoreline to exit safely. The advisory applies despite clear skies and moderate temperatures in the area.
The weekend forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with Saturday’s high near 83 degrees and a low around 65 at night. Sunday may see a slight chance of afternoon showers.
