According to their early reports, fog is expected to expand across southeast Georgia, the Suwannee Valley, and parts of inland northeast Florida. The prediction is that visibility may significantly reduce during the early hours, just in time for the morning commute, breaching upon motorists' convenience with the peering dawn.
The NWS Jacksonville statement requests that "Motorists should remain alert for sudden changes in visibility during the early morning commute, especially in low spots and near marshes, rivers, creeks or lakes." The fog is a regular accompaniment to the geography of the region, but it is still an inconvenience, one to potentially disrupt to open the door of the usual flow, letting in delays and the unexpected.
Despite these conditions, the weather forecast promises a mostly sunny day with highs around 81 degrees. A calm turn to a light south wind is expected in the afternoon, providing just a whisper of movement in the otherwise still air settling over Jacksonville, as per NWS.
Come tonight, the skies will remain only partly cloudy, giving way to a modest low of 61 degrees. Southeast winds will gently preside before calming later in the evening. Those planning for the weekend can eagerly anticipate similarly pleasant conditions, with the sun mostly claiming the skies, accompanied by highs in the low 80s. The National Weather Service advises that while the fog may disrupt early plans, it should dissipate by mid-morning.
