Las Vegas can expect scattered light to moderate showers through early Saturday morning, with southern Nevada and northwestern Arizona seeing a slight chance of rain. According to the National Weather Service, high pressure will bring sunshine and warmer temperatures in time for Thanksgiving.
Rain is not expected to cause widespread flooding, but isolated ponding on roads or low water crossings is possible. Temperatures will rise this weekend toward normal fall levels. Those planning lake activities next week should watch for stronger winds, which could make boating hazardous.
Flights at Harry Reid Airport will see light rain through Friday afternoon, with ceilings around 3,000 feet and visibility about 6 miles. Conditions should improve Saturday morning with clearer skies and ceilings above 10,000 feet. Pilots over San Bernardino County may face lower visibility and ceilings.
The National Weather Service asks weather spotters to report any significant weather or impacts following standard procedures as the low-pressure system moves through the area.
