A somber scene unfolded in Lynnwood this past Sunday as a teenage boy was lured from his home and stabbed, allegedly by an acquaintance. According to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, Lynnwood Police were called to the 20900 block of 44th Avenue W. at approximately 3:13 p.m. following a report of a stabbing. The MyNorthwest report details how the 17-year-old was deceived into leaving his apartment before being assaulted.
Following the attack, the suspect purportedly fled into a nearby wooded area, discarding the knife used in the vicious act. As reported by FOX13 Seattle, law enforcement located the 18-year-old male suspect at a business plaza close to the scene. It was also revealed that a second suspect, a 19-year-old woman, was involved in the incident, and both were subsequently taken into custody and booked into Snohomish County Jail.
The teen victim was rushed to Providence Medical Center, having sustained life-threatening injuries from the encounter.
The reported dynamic between the suspects and the victim adds another layer to the narrative, with KOMO News referring to an affidavit that classifies the incident as domestic violence due to the pair’s prior relationship with the victim. "Murphy was arrested for first-degree assault–domestic violence, and DiJulio was arrested for first-degree assault," noted KOMO News.
