The Macomb County Sheriff's Office added two new K9 officers. CBS News Detroit reports the dogs will help with tracking missing people, finding evidence, and supporting safety during emergencies.

Joining the existing German Shepherds, Radar and Enzo, the Macomb County Sheriff's Office has welcomed new K9s: German Shepherd Vader and Malinois Koda, both trained in obedience and special detection work. "We are eager to welcome these new K9s to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office," Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said, noting their role in law enforcement and community engagement.

The expansion of the K9 unit received strong community support, with over $29,600 raised by the Gallo Family Foundation and MCSO fundraising, and protective vests donated by Yaz Abusaif of AZ Arms Incorporated, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page. The new dogs are now ready to serve in Washington Township and Macomb Township, providing specialized support in narcotics and explosives detection while strengthening public safety.
