Despite initial reports of gunfire at around 4:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Second Avenue, officers did not find shell casings, and no witnesses confirmed hearing any shots, according to the Seattle Police Department.
The victim later sought treatment at Harborview Medical Center, presenting multiple stab wounds that included injuries to his back, scalp, rib cage, and right arm. The hospital staff reported his condition as serious but non-life-threatening. It has come to be known that after leaving a nearby nightclub, the victim and his friends were followed by a group of individuals. An altercation ensued near the Sinking Ship Garage entrance during which the victim was stabbed multiple times while apparently attempting to intervene in the fight.
As it stands, the Seattle Police Department's Homicide/Assault Unit has taken over the case. The investigation continues as they seek the assailant responsible for the stabbing. An official statement from the department detailed the extent of the victim's injuries, listing "four stab wounds to his back, three to his scalp, one to his ribcage, and one to his right arm."
