Manatee County is gearing up to officially open the doors of its newest EMS station on December 8 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony slated for 2 p.m. The introduction of North County EMS Station #22 represents a significant upgrade in emergency response infrastructure, aiming to significantly enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the services offered to local residents.
With features to include an apparatus bay large enough to accommodate up to four first-response vehicles, the station will span around 4,500 square feet. The venue is also set to quickly boost operations by housing offices for district leadership and EMS crews, in addition to a kitchen, day room, decontamination room, laundry, and sleeping quarters. Manatee County District 1 Commissioner Carol Ann Felts expressed her satisfaction, "I’m proud to see this vision brought to life for the people of Manatee County," as obtained by the official Manatee County news release.
The new station promises to address current community needs while keeping an eye on the future growth of the County. This aligns with the Manatee Board of County Commissioners' focused investment strategy that seeks to provide long-term benefits to the community. Reflective of their commitment, the modernized facility is outfitted with enhanced security features and improved operational amenities.
All are encouraged to attend the ribbon-cutting, tour the new EMS facility, and meet the County staff who will operate it, according to the event announcement. Manatee County is the exclusive provider of 911-emergency response throughout its 748 square miles and 150 miles of coastal waterways, highlighting the critical nature of advanced and accessible emergency infrastructure in the area.
Details on the location and time of the event can be found on the Manatee County's official website. The address for the ceremony is 2950 Moccasin Wallow Rd. in Palmetto, with several County officials, community partners, and residents expected to be present to witness this milestone for the community.
