Medicare Part B premiums are rising in 2026, which may reduce the benefit of Social Security cost-of-living adjustments for some seniors, with some seeing their effective COLA drop to zero. Anne Montgomery of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare said Part B premiums are increasing three times faster than inflation, and the organization’s president, Max Richtman, said, "This is gonna hurt," as per CBS News. Nearly 69 million Americans are enrolled in Medicare, and the enrollment period ends on December 7.
