Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced promotions within her department, naming Christopher Braverman as division chief of the Labor Division and Eric Jamison as chief of the State Operations Division. "Both Chris and Eric are long-time civil servants who have dedicated their careers to the State of Michigan," Nessel remarked. "We are lucky to have them, and I know they will continue to excel in their new roles," according to the Department of Attorney General.
Eric Jamison, who joined the department in 2013, has experience in tax litigation and eDiscovery, rising through management roles since 2017. The State Operations Division oversees a wide range of responsibilities, assisting multiple state agencies with both transactional and litigation legal matters, as reported by the Department of Attorney General.
Christopher Braverman joined the Department in 2008 in the State Operations Division and later worked in the Labor Division. In 2020, he became first assistant in the Licensing and Regulation Division and has participated in class-action litigation, appearing in courts including the Michigan Supreme Court and the Sixth Circuit. In August 2025, he was promoted to chief of the Labor Division, which advises and represents State entities on employment regulations and workforce benefits and operates in Lansing and Detroit, covering areas such as Regulatory, Vocational Safety, Unemployment, and Workers’ Compensation. Jamison, a graduate of Oakland University and Wayne State University Law School, will continue working in eDiscovery and litigation within the division, as stated by the Department of Attorney General.
