As New Berlin finds itself wrapped in the thick of winter, the City of New Berlin Office of Emergency Management has taken to social media to inform residents about the snow removal efforts. The department's plow/salters, having mostly concluded their rounds for the evening, are set to resume their battle against the snow at 4 am today. In a post on their official Facebook page, the department reminds citizens to exert caution if they must travel overnight, given the increased risk due to snow-laden streets and potentially icy conditions.
Maintaining the city's mobility and safety in these frigid times, the plow/salter crews, tasked with clearing the streets and dispensing salt, play a crucial role. Residents should particularly be vigilant "approaching intersections, making turns and on hills," a task complicated by the freshly fallen snow, as stated in the social media update.
Despite brief pauses, more than 20 DPW trucks remain on standby to respond if snowfall intensifies. New Berlin’s strategy prioritizes clearing main roads and emergency access first, then secondary streets. The Office of Emergency Management keeps residents informed, ensuring community safety and preparedness.
