
New York City will see changing weather this week, with some rain in different areas and a freeze warning for tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). In Manhattan, there is a 40 percent chance of rain before 1 p.m. today, with temperatures reaching 56 degrees and then falling to around 47 degrees later.
Veterans Day is expected to be mostly sunny, but strong winds could make it feel colder, between 25 and 35 degrees. Brooklyn and Queens will have similar weather, with a small chance of rain and colder temperatures in the evening.
Staten Island is expected to have the coldest nights ahead, with temperatures dropping to between 20 and 25 degrees tonight once the wind is factored in. Veterans Day will also be breezy, with a high near 44 degrees that will feel colder because of the wind. The Bronx will see increasing clouds with a high around 43 degrees, followed by a drop to about 36 degrees in the evening.
According to the Hazardous Weather Outlook, hazardous conditions are expected across New York City as the NWS issues a freeze warning from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. EST tomorrow. The alert warns of sub-freezing temperatures that could affect outdoor plumbing, plants, and pets left outside. Coastal areas are also under advisories for strong winds, with gale warnings in effect from tomorrow morning through Wednesday. In some locations, including Moriches Inlet to Montauk Point, the gale warning will remain active until 6 a.m. EST Wednesday.
