A dispute over noise levels in a Pittsburgh apartment building escalated to violence this past weekend, leading to a man being stabbed and a woman being arrested. The incident took place in the Spring Hill-City View neighborhood and unfolded last Saturday night, according to local authorities.
The confrontation began in the hallway of an apartment complex on the 100 block of Rhine Place when an argument over noise between neighboring residents spiraled out of control, per reports by WPXI. The altercation, which initially involved two men and a woman, moved into one of the men's apartments, where another woman and a child were also present.
Pittsburgh Public Safety officials reported that during the altercation inside the apartment, the situation escalated when the first woman pulled out a gun and threatened the second man. In what might seem a moment of domestic chaos, the second woman intervened by stabbing the first man in the buttocks. Despite the presence of a firearm, no shots were fired during the incident.
The injured man and the armed woman both fled from the scene immediately after the stabbing. The man was later taken to a hospital, where he received treatment and was listed in stable condition. The incident left authorities trying to figure out what had happened that night, and the armed woman was later arrested.
TribLive reported that she was taken to the Allegheny County Jail, though her identity has not yet been released. As the investigation continues, police expect to file additional charges.
