A San Antonio teen, Seth Anthony Segovia, turned himself in nearly seven months after a shooting that wounded a young girl inside a North Side home. The arrest affidavit states he admitted to firing a shot from a vehicle during the April 22 incident.

Before Segovia came forward on Sunday, deputies had already arrested 18-year-old Caden Sylva. Surveillance footage and fingerprint evidence tied Sylva to related vehicle break-ins reported earlier that same morning.

Confession And Charges

According to KENS5, Segovia called the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday and told investigators he had fired a shot from a vehicle and later fired additional rounds into the air. He reportedly said he was under the influence at the time and could not remember where he got the gun or the stolen car involved. The arrest affidavit charges Segovia with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Earlier Arrest And Surveillance Evidence

As reported by KSAT, deputies arrested 18-year-old Caden Sylva after homeowner surveillance video and other footage placed him at an earlier shooting on the same morning. Investigators say the trouble started when someone tried to break into a car on the 23000 block of Fairway Bridge, near Highway 281 and Wilderness Oak. The sheriff’s office said the suspects later came back in a white sedan and shot into the home.

Forensic Links Between Scenes

Documents reviewed by KENS5 state that shell casings recovered at the Fairway Bridge scene matched casings found later that morning at a second nearby shooting. Investigators also lifted fingerprints from an abandoned 2013 Hyundai Elantra, which the documents say matched both Segovia and Sylva. The sheriff’s affidavit lists a 2020 Kia Optima among the vehicles reported stolen and later found abandoned near the scenes.

Victim And Neighborhood

A report from KTSA identifies the homeowner as Orlando McLain. He told deputies he reviewed his own surveillance footage and saw two men near his vehicle before they ran off, then came back and fired into the house. One of the rounds struck McLain’s daughter in the leg. Deputies say McLain was already applying a tourniquet when they arrived, and that the girl was expected to recover.

What Comes Next

Segovia is now accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and the case remains under investigation. KSAT reported that Sylva was booked on charges of aggravated assault and unauthorized use of a vehicle and was held on an $80,000 bond. Prosecutors will decide whether to pursue additional charges as detectives finish reviewing the case.
