Local sports teams are stepping up to address the challenges of food insecurity in the Central Florida area. Orlando City and Orlando Pride are teaming up with the supporters’ group The Ruckus to launch a community food drive aimed at providing relief during the holiday season. According to a WESH article, the campaign kicked off today and will continue through November 26th.

Community members and fans are encouraged to donate nonperishable and shelf-stable food items at two locations: the Gate D lobby at Inter&Co Stadium and the team’s front office. Through collaborative effort, the drive hopes to gather significant contributions for the Second Harvest Food Bank, which will distribute the collected items to families in need. "Food insecurity is a pressing issue for many in our community, especially as we approach Thanksgiving," Kaia Forgét, Vice President of Community Impact for Orlando City and Orlando Pride, told Orlando City SC's official website. These locations are set to accept donations from Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Additionally, Orlando City and Pride will host their 10th annual turkey distribution, scheduled for November 24 at the Inter&Co Stadium. The event is a highlight in their calendar that aims to provide families with a key ingredient for their Thanksgiving meal.
