
A fatal hit-and-run incident has claimed the life of an adult male pedestrian in the Weinland Park neighborhood of Columbus. According to WBNS, the Columbus Division of Police reports that the occurrence transpired early yesterday morning when a red Mitsubishi Lancer, traveling westbound on East 11th Avenue toward North 5th Street, veered off the road and collided with the man at approximately 1:35 a.m.
The driver, along with the five passengers of the vehicle, fled the scene without rendering aid or notifying emergency services. Authorities stated that the man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The identity of he deceased has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin. Columbus police's Accident Investigation Unit has responded to the incident, and the crash remains under investigation.
