As the clock winds down to Raleigh's municipal elections on November 4, the North Carolina State Board of Elections is ensuring voters across its cities, towns, and villages are prepped and ready to cast their ballots with ease. Bringing an eclectic range of contests into focus, mayoral and local governing body seats are up for grabs, while some districts will be dotting their 'i's and crossing their 't's on referenda and positions among water and sewer commissions and the board of education, as reported on the NCSBE website.

The North Carolina State Board of Elections has shared key reminders to help voters prepare for the upcoming election. Voters can check if they’re eligible to vote in 2025 and view their sample ballot through the State Board’s Voter Search tool. The voter registration deadline was October 10, but same-day registration is available on Election Day for new U.S. citizens or those who recently had their rights restored after a felony conviction.

Polling places will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. Anyone already in line by closing time will still be allowed to vote. Voters can use the State Board’s Voter Search tool to find their assigned polling place and must bring a photo ID. Those without one can vote provisionally by completing an ID Exception Form or showing their ID later.

Curbside voting will be available for voters with disabilities or who need assistance. Absentee voters can hand-deliver their ballots to their county board of elections office during business hours or until polls close at 7:30 p.m.

Election officials also remind the public that voter intimidation and interference are illegal and will be handled by law enforcement. Once voting ends, results will be available in real time through the State Board’s Election Results Dashboard. For more information, voters can visit the “Vote in Person on Election Day” page on the NCSBE website.
