Tampa's up-and-coming artists are getting their moment in the spotlight starting next week, as the Hillsborough County Center prepares to unveil a new art installation showcasing the creative efforts of local youth. The inauguration of "Rising Voices: Creative Works by Hillsborough County Youth" will take place next Monday at 4:30 p.m., with a special emphasis on photography captured by students from Blake High School. This series, set to rotate regularly, is kicking off with "Riverfest Reflections: Immersive Event Photography," an exhibit that delves into the imagery of this year's Tampa Riverfest.
The initiative, sponsored by the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, has provided a platform for the students by using funds from a Community Arts Impact Grant to purchase the cameras that captured these dynamic festival moments. The event itself enjoyed the support of the Arts Council through their Special Event Partnership Grant program, a gesture that acknowledges the value of cultural celebration in the community fabric, and, facilitates its documentation and celebration.
