Seattle saw some action on Capitol Hill yesterday afternoon when police officers arrested two individuals during a narcotics operation. In a detailed account by the Seattle Police Department Blotter, the arrest took place near Broadway East and East Olive Way in an area known as "SODA Zone 4."
At approximately 3:15 p.m., officers observed a 31-year-old male suspect engaging in what appeared to be drug sales. The suspect, later discovered to be an armed felon, was accompanied by a 20-year-old woman who, handling cash, also seemed to be involved in the transactions. Selling drugs to several individuals, the officers saw the suspects before swiftly moving in to arrest them without any issues arising.
The evidence seized by the police from the suspects included 10.3 grams of Fentanyl, $455 in cash, a scale, and plastic baggies, as well as a handgun. The presence of the gun was particularly alarming, considering the male suspect is prohibited from possessing firearms due to previous felony convictions for drive-by shooting and Assault. Adding to his rap sheet was a $10,000 felony narcotics warrant already out for his arrest.
Upon arrest, police booked the male suspect into the King County Jail on charges relating to the Sale and Delivery of Synthetic Narcotics and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, according to the police report. After undergoing investigation, the woman, deemed his accomplice, was released from the East Precinct. Detectives with the Narcotics Unit will follow up on the case, delving deeper into this incident and its implications for the broader community.
