Rebecca Park, a 22-year-old pregnant woman missing since November 3, was found dead in Manistee National Forest, though her baby has not been located. She was last seen entering a dark-colored vehicle near a relative’s home in Boon Township, and had received $2,000 from a family inheritance on the day she disappeared, which police believe may have helped her avoid electronic tracking.
Wexford County Sheriff Trent Taylor stated, “We understand the public’s desire for details and their demand for justice for Rebecca and her baby. We ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to seek answers for this tragic situation,” emphasizing the ongoing investigation, as reported by ClickOnDetroit. The discovery came after a search party confirmed her body while scouring the forest, and authorities are actively searching for the missing baby.
Rebecca Park’s fiancé, Richard Lee Falor, and her sister, Kimberly Park, were arrested following her death. Falor faces charges of delivering methamphetamine and could receive a life sentence due to previous convictions, while Kimberly is charged with tampering with evidence and other offenses. They are being held on bonds of $1 million and $750,000, respectively, as flight risks, according to WWMT. The official cause of Park’s death is still pending, and the autopsy confirmed her identity but provided limited information. Authorities have not released many details about the investigation, which includes the ongoing search for her unborn child. Sheriff Taylor said, "We ask for your patience and understanding as we continue to seek answers for this tragic situation," as mentioned by MLive.
