Austin residents can look forward to a week of largely sunny skies and steadily climbing temperatures, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast. The projections for Veterans Day report conditions as sunny, with a high reaching near 73 and south winds picking up from 5 to 10 mph to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon, and gusts possibly hitting as high as 30 mph.
Tonight's outlook remains mostly clear, with a low around 55, while south winds are expected to continue at a pace of 5 to 10 mph, and could also see gusts up to 20 mph; as we progress through the week, this pattern appears to hold steady with Wednesday and Thursday offering clear skies and highs edging toward the 80s, south winds maintain a gentle flow from 5 to 10 mph, gusts peaking around 20 to 25 mph, making for a comfortable seasonal transition as we move further into November.
Friday's forecast also promises mostly sunny conditions, setting the stage for a high near 85, but winds remain consistent with previous days. The evening's partly cloudy cover is expected to settle at around 66 degrees, and the weekend brings potential change with a 20 percent chance of showers on Saturday and increasing to a 30 percent potential for showers and thunderstorms come Saturday night, where lows hover around 65.
While Sunday indicates sunnier climes with high temperatures dipping slightly to 78, and a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms are also on the horizon, as we look toward Sunday night, predictions suggest a diminished 20 percent chance of showers and a drop in the nighttime low to around 59 degrees, leading into a sunny Monday, capping off the forecast with a comfortable high near 78 again.
