A Warren man, Eddie Clark, has been charged with several offenses after police said he pointed an AK-47-style rifle at officers. The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office said Clark was arraigned for assault with intent to murder and other weapons charges following the incident last Saturday, according to CBS News Detroit.

Warren police responded to a domestic violence call at Clark’s apartment, where prosecutors said he pointed a firearm at officers. Police fired their weapons, retreated, and Clark later surrendered without further incident, as reported by ClickOnDetroit. A search warrant later uncovered a loaded rifle and a handgun with altered identification marks.

Clark has been charged in the 37th District Court with assault with intent to murder, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person, altering firearm identification marks, two counts of felony firearm, and as a Habitual Offender Fourth Offense, which may increase his sentence. His bond was set at $1 million cash or surety. Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said, “Domestic violence incidents represent some of the most dangerous and unpredictable calls our law enforcement officers respond to,” as per Audacy. Clark’s next court appearance, a probable cause conference, is scheduled for November 13.
