The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is taking a creative approach to community engagement and fundraising. In a new initiative announced on their Washington County Sheriff's Office social media page, the office will release a 2026 calendar, featuring local businesses, to support the Sheriff's Office operations, such as their K9 program and public safety education.
The Sheriff’s Office is holding a fundraiser that aims to benefit both the community and the local economy. According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office post, ''We are supporting this venture because it offers real value to both the community and participating businesses.'' Contributions from the drive will go directly to law enforcement services, and local businesses are invited to place advertisements in the calendar to support the effort.
Furthermore, the Sheriff's Office provided reassurance amidst skepticism that sometimes surrounds fundraising communications, affirming the authenticity of the letters that residents and businesses will receive. In their words, "We want to make it clear that this is a legitimate, authorized effort on behalf of our office." The social media announcement aims to preempt confusion and reinforce trust within the community as this initiative unfolds.
The initiative also includes follow-up interactions, with authorized phone calls from Law Enforcement Services planned to discuss further sponsorship opportunities. The Office's social media post included an endorsement of these calls, adding, "These calls are approved by our office." Acknowledging the crucial support of the community, the Washington County Sheriff's Office closed its announcement, expressing gratitude: "Thank you for your continued support of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and our ongoing commitment to keep Washington County safe."
