Residents in the Oates, Galloway, and La Prada area of the City of Mesquite are currently experiencing a noteworthy disruption to their water service. According to an official statement on the city's website, a main break has prompted the temporary shutdown of water in several locations, including portions of Montclair Lane, Village Green Drive, and N. Galloway Avenue. Though water service has not been entirely stopped, as crews are on-site regulating valves, complete outages are expected as the repair work continues through the night.
The estimated time frame for the repair completion, as posted in the update from the City of Mesquite, stretches from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. While the exact duration of the disruption is difficult to pin down, officials are advising residents to remain patient and stay informed by checking back for updates. Working through the night, the crews tackling the challenge are doing so with the understanding that the access to water—a vital resource—hangs in the balance for many.
They have yet to issue a boil water notice, which would become necessary if water pressure drops below certain safety levels or if contamination is detected. Such precautions are standard protocol in instances where water infrastructure is compromised, ensuring that residents are protected from potential hazards associated with unsanitary water.
