All aboard the holiday cheer express, as the CPKC Holiday Train gears up to roll into Wauwatosa on December 10. Festive locomotive enthusiasts and yuletide revelers alike, mark your calendars for an afternoon filled with bright lights, spirited carols, and community goodwill.
The Wauwatosa Police Department informed via social media that the festivities will commence at Harwood Crossing at 4:15 p.m., accompanied by a live musical performance to entertain attendees of all ages. A rite of tradition in Wauwatosa, the event promises a blend of seasonal charm and community togetherness.
To facilitate a safe and smooth event for everyone, authorities have announced road closures between 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on December 10. Affected streets include State Street, from Harmonee Avenue to Wauwatosa Avenue, and Harwood Avenue sections, from Dewey Avenue to the train crossing and from State Street to Wauwatosa Avenue. Motorists can expect these changes and plan accordingly for alternative routes and some commute delays.
Additionally, those planning to join the event by car should be aware that the Lower Harwood parking lots, such as the Farmers Market lot and spaces under the Harmonee Bridge, will shut down starting at 2:00 p.m. The police encourage attendees to bring healthy, non-perishable food items and cash donations for Tosa Cares, affirming that the holiday celebration is rooted not just in merry-making but also in acts of kindness and support for those in need within the community, according to the Wauwatosa Police Department post.
As the holiday season approaches, anticipation is building for Wauwatosa’s annual Holiday Train event. The lighted train, accompanied by musical performances, has become a well-attended tradition in the community, drawing residents together for an evening of celebration and charitable giving.
