The National Weather Service in Milwaukee has issued a forecast for the coming week that hints at calm yet fluctuating weather patterns for the residents of Milwaukee and surrounding areas in east central, south central, and southeast Wisconsin. As Wisconsinites brace for a mix of clear skies and probable rain, the mercury is playing its dance, with temperatures swinging between a cool 31°F to pleasant highs in the low fifties.
Milwaukee today can expect increasing clouds, with a high near 50, and winds picking up as the sun climbs, possibly gusting to 25 mph, which should give a bit of a bite to the air. Tonight, the stars should be out in force with mostly clear skies anticipated and a low around 35, "becoming northwest after midnight," as the NWS reports. In the Wisconsin River Valley and other low-lying areas, early risers may have contended with patchy freezing fog— certainly not ideal for early morning travel.
Looking ahead to Sunday, sunshine will greet Milwaukee with a high near 51, and a calm northwest wind taking a gentle jog at 5 to 10 mph. As we march into the night, mostly clear conditions are expected to continue with lows around 34. Monday's forecast brings a 20 percent chance of afternoon rain and rising clouds as we inch towards a 52-degree high.
Change arrives Monday night, as the threat of rain ramps up, reaching a near certainty with a 90 percent chance, and the weather is poised to drop up to half an inch of precipitation on Milwaukee, according to a NWS forecast. For those commuting, Tuesday will keep you guessing with a toss-up 50 percent chance of rain and mostly cloudy skies overhead. The temperature is set to peak at around 55 before the wind shifts west in the afternoon.
The remainder of the week looks to hold its share of surprises with a small potential for rain and snow midweek, and daytime highs tumbling back down to the 30s. Thanksgiving Day itself promises mostly sunny skies, albeit with winter-like highs near 34, according to the NWS forecast.
According to the Hazardous Weather Outlook has currently not flagged any significant weather hazards, keeping the outlook free from any alarms from Sunday through to the following Friday. As always, residents and travelers should stay tuned for any updates, as the weather is apt to change. "Spotter activation will not be needed," confirms the agency, though the skies will assuredly have their moments of drama in the coming days.
