The Auburn, WA Police Department has recently shared new details concerning a smash-and-grab robbery that transpired at the Cash America Pawn on December 5th. A suspect, now linked to a string of related activities, was caught on camera at the Auburn Cash America on December 4th and also seen at the Renton Cash America the preceding day. The authorities are actively seeking assistance in apprehending the individual responsible for the theft of multiple jewelry pieces.
At approximately 6:30 pm on the day of the robbery, an unidentified person shattered a display case with a mini sledgehammer and quickly made away with the contents. The suspect, who had a tote bag and was carrying with them a small, light-colored dog, left their sledgehammer behind and fled in an unregistered, grey Ford Fusion.
This particular Ford Fusion, described as likely a model from the years 2010 to 2012, is notable for having no license plates and distinctive features, including fuzzy white dice dangling from the rearview mirror and distinctive damage to the rear end. It was last reported moving northbound, potentially entering SR-167 NB from 277th. The police are asking anyone with information to get in touch through the Auburn Police Department Tip Line at 253-288-7403.
Prior to the theft, surveillance footage shows the person of interest engaging in a suspicious pattern of behavior. On December 4th, at the Auburn location and during their attempt to sell a Snapmaker 2.0 3D printer on December 3rd, at the Renton location, the suspect was observed wearing the same or very similar attire. They have been seen driving what appears to be the same grey Ford Fusion, during all recorded observations, starting with the Renton visit and carrying with them a black and grey "Rising Star Academy" tote bag, which was eventually recovered from the scene of the crime.
