A recent incident in Burien involving a felony arrest after a domestic altercation has led to a suspect being detained on multiple charges. The Burien Police Department took to social media to disclose details of the encounter, which began with deputies responding to a report of a physical confrontation between an adult couple.
Upon arrival, officers were denied entry as the suspect closed the door on them. A view through an outside window revealed the female victim inside the apartment bleeding heavily. Assisted by the entry granted by the suspect's father, deputies were able to access the residence. The victim identified the assailant as her boyfriend and the father of her infant child, alleging he struck her with a glass frame, causing significant bleeding from a laceration to her left leg.
The deputies quickly ascertained there was probable cause to arrest the man for Assault in the third degree, a felony. Law enforcement established a perimeter and deployed a police K9 unit to aid in capturing the suspect. K9 Dingo, alongside his handler, tracked down the suspect who ultimately surrendered. "The suspect immediately called out to Deputies and surrendered upon seeing K9 Dingo advancing towards him," reported the Burien Police Department's Facebook post.
The arrest did not occur without further revelations. Upon running a records check, deputies found that the suspect was already wanted on three outstanding felony warrants. The warrants included: eluding a police vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, and escape from community custody related to a prior robbery, as detailed by the police department's online statement. The suspect has been booked into the King County Jail for investigation of felony assault and the additional warrants. Charges have been filed, and a judge has set his bond at $110,000.00.
