
Clark County’s GIVE JOY Holiday Toy and Gift Card Drive, now in its 15th year, provided gifts to more than 3,200 children in foster care.153 donors and 317 volunteers helped distribute toys, gift cards, and laptops to the children.
Jennifer Erbes, Family Services Manager for Clark County Family Services, praised the GIVE JOY event, saying, "We are incredibly grateful to our community partners, donors, and volunteers who came together to make this year's GIVE JOY event a tremendous success," She noted the ongoing need for foster homes, with 384 licensed families currently available, and encouraged community members to consider becoming foster parents, according to the Clark County website.
AT&T, the RennerVation Foundation, and the non-profit Human-I-T distributed 200 refurbished laptops to teenagers in foster care to help bridge the digital divide. Omar Saucedo, AT&T Nevada’s Director of External Affairs, said, "AT&T is proud to collaborate with the RennerVation Foundation and their mission to support Nevada's foster youth and to help close the digital divide in northern Nevada," according to the Clark County website.
Clark County is seeking I-CARE providers—emergency on-call foster parents who can offer immediate care for children in crisis. Residents interested in becoming a foster parent or I-CARE provider can find more information at clarkcountyfostercare.com.
Program sponsors, including Prologis, Picerne Real Estate Group, StageHouse Las Vegas, Solutions USA, Amazon, AT&T, and the RennerVation Foundation, supported the GIVE JOY event. Share in the JOY, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit, served as the fiscal partner for the initiative.
