As night falls and the city continues to pulse with the ceaseless rhythm of progress, residents in Dallas are advised to prepare for some disruptions due to critical maintenance works by the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA). According to a social media post from the Dallas Police Department, scheduled roadway repair will see the overnight closure of several ramps connecting the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) and the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT).

The specifics of the closures, announced for the evenings of December 18th and 19th between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., include the southbound DNT to westbound PGBT and the westbound PGBT to both north- and southbound DNT direct-connector ramps. This schedule means that detours will be necessary for many drivers traveling these major arteries of the Dallas thoroughfare. The Dallas Police Department has delineated several alternate routes on their post to aid commuters during these hours of repair and ensure that the inconvenience, while noticeable, is mitigated through clear guidance and thorough planning.

For those traveling westbound on PGBT, the recommended detour is to continue south on the DNT, take the exit for Frankford Rd./Trinity Mills Rd./Westgrove Dr., execute a U-turn under the DNT, then proceed onto the northbound DNT before finally accessing the ramp back to the westbound PGBT. Commuters heading northbound on the DNT should exit at Midway Rd./Rosemeade Pkwy., take a right on Midway Rd., then a right on Park Blvd., followed by a left onto Dallas Pkwy. (frontage road) and re-enter by way of the Park Blvd. ramp. Finally, those driving southbound on the DNT will need to exit at the same Midway Rd./Rosemeade Pkwy., turn left onto Midway Rd., make a left onto Frankford Rd., a right onto the Dallas Pkwy., and then re-enter via the Frankford Rd. ramp.
