
A quiet stretch of County Road 372 east of Uvalde turned into a deadly scene early Sunday when a house fire tore through a home just after 1:30 a.m., leaving two people dead. Firefighters discovered the victims inside the residence, and they were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the blaze remains unknown as investigators from local and state agencies work to figure out what happened, as reported by the San Antonio Express-News.
In a somber Facebook post, the Uvalde Volunteer Fire Department said two pumpers, two tanker trucks and 12 firefighters responded to the call, noting that “firefighters unfortunately discovered two deceased individuals inside the home,” according to the San Antonio Express-News. The department added that no additional details were available Sunday afternoon and that more information would be shared when it could be released.
