Early Wednesday, a fire destroyed one home and damaged two neighboring houses on San Antonio’s East Side. The San Antonio Fire Department responded shortly before 2 a.m. to the 2100 block of East Crockett Street, where flames from the unoccupied central residence spread to adjacent homes, KENS 5 reported.
Upon arrival, firefighters prioritized safeguarding the flanking homes, managing to suppress the flames that caught on these structures, as stated by a San Antonio Fire Department battalion chief obtained by KENS 5. The right-side house sustained more damage with severe scorching, yet it remained structurally sound, while the fire was shortly extinguished from the house to the left, whose resident was evacuated safely and could later return.
The primary house, now a total loss, was vacant at the time, preventing further harm. FOX San Antonio confirmed that no one was injured in the blaze.
Fire investigators remain on site to determine the cause of the blaze that destroyed a home, FOX San Antonio reports. The investigation aims to prevent similar incidents in the neighborhood, where residents faced a significant risk to their homes.
