In Fairfield, the tranquility was abruptly interrupted by the flurry of police activity. According to a social media post from the Fairfield Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of San Thomas Street following reports of a suspected vehicle theft in progress.
The incident occurred yesterday around 4:32 AM, escalating when officers arrived to find a man allegedly attempting to gain access to a vehicle forcibly. It was during their investigation that Officer Ray observed, and later confirmed, a rifle with a high-capacity magazine and armor-piercing bullets in the back seat of the vehicle. The suspect, who initially provided a false name to officers, was identified as 32-year-old Clarence Jordan of Vallejo.
Jordan, a convicted felon on Post Release Community Supervision, was found to have multiple outstanding arrest warrants. An ensuing background check revealed his criminal status, complicating the nature of his current engagement with the law. With the evidence collected, Jordan was detained without incident, Fairfield Police confirmed.
He was subsequently booked into Solano County Jail, facing charges for the existing warrants as well as multiple firearms-related offenses.
