New details have emerged in the case against Sherrone Moore, the former head coach for the Michigan Wolverines, who is facing charges including third-degree home invasion, stalking, and breaking and entering. According to ClickOnDetroit, recently released "swear-to" documents show that Moore had a two-year relationship with a woman he is accused of assaulting.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office released ex-coach Moore's booking photo and court documents following media FOIA requests, including details of his arraignment, as reported by WWMT. Allegations against Moore include breaking into a woman's apartment, threatening her with knives, and putting himself at risk, though he denied any physical assault or weapon threats; he is due in court on January 22, 2026.
The University of Michigan has launched an independent investigation into its athletic department, with Interim President Domenico Grasso stating, "We are continuing the investigation of Coach Moore’s actions to uncover any additional germane and material information and to assess whether there may be related misconduct by others," as mentioned by MLive. The public records include Moore's felony domestic violence charging document, showing the seriousness of the allegations.
