Henry Ruggs III, the former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver, has been transferred from a minimum-security transitional house to the medium-security Northern Nevada Correctional Center. He began serving a three-to-10-year sentence after pleading guilty to a 2021 DUI that caused the death of 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog, while driving at 156 mph with a blood-alcohol level of 0.16, as reported by FOX5 Vegas.
The Nevada Department of Corrections did not specify the reason for Ruggs’ transfer but noted that inmates can be moved to higher-security facilities for rule violations or infractions, as per News3LV. Previously, he was at Casa Grande Transitional Housing and performed work at the Governor’s Mansion, indicating his prior placement was low-security.
Former NFL player Henry Ruggs was transferred to the Northern Nevada Correctional Center, though the circumstances behind the move remain unclear, and the Nevada Department of Corrections has not provided further details. Ruggs was sentenced in August 2023 following the 2021 incident that ended his football career and affected the family of Tina Tintor. The full reasons for his transfer are yet to be disclosed.
