The Franklin County Sheriff's Office recently introduced the latest addition to their K9 unit in a social media post that also mentioned an application meant for keeping the community updated on such matters. The new fur-clad recruit, Judge, is a 6-month-old Belgian Malinois with a few months to go before he can begin his official training as an odor and apprehension dog. According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Judge is expected to specialize in bomb detection, although his specific duties are yet to be finalized.
While he’s still young, the K9 team is already impressed by the potential Judge has shown. "Even though he’s young, he’s already shown a lot of potential," they expressed in the Franklin County Sheriff's Office's post, foretelling the dedication and skill this pup is prepped to bring to the force. The judge is currently learning some basic tactics in anticipation of the specialized training that will guide his career in law enforcement.
The community members curious about Judge's progress can track his journey through the Sheriff's Office's own digital eyes and ears.
