What METRO Police Say Happened
According to ABC13, METRO Police said officers responded Thursday evening to reports of a shooting on a bus near Sweetwater Lane and Gulf Bank Road. Investigators told the station that two men were arguing on board when one of them pulled a gun and opened fire. METRO Police said no one on the bus was hit, and the incident remains under investigation.
Recent Trouble On METRO Buses
Transit violence has surfaced several times this year. In May, an argument aboard a METRO bus on the city's south side ended in a fatal shooting, the Houston Chronicle reported, and local television coverage at the time urged witnesses to share video or tips with investigators. Those episodes have renewed public attention on rider and driver safety across the system.
Investigation And How To Help
METRO Police said the case remains under investigation and that no arrests had been reported in initial accounts, per ABC13. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS or reach out to METRO Police through their public channels to assist detectives.
