Law enforcement in Harris County had their hands full earlier this month when deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office Special Operations Unit were dispatched to intercept a suspected bank "jugger." The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office reported that the incident occurred on December 5, 2025, in the vicinity of 800 E Louetta Road, after a report of a motor vehicle burglary potentially connected to bank jugging was filed.
When deputies arrived, they quickly located the vehicle involved. Their attempt to conduct a traffic stop led to a pursuit, during which the driver—later identified as Christopher Harris—attempted to flee. Harris was eventually taken into custody, and deputies recovered the stolen money, which was returned to the victim.
Authorities noted that Harris was already wanted for robbery and burglary in Pflugerville and Bastrop County and had two active motor vehicle burglary warrants out of Harris County. Constable Mark Herman emphasized the seriousness of the repeated offenses and highlighted the work of his deputies, while also stressing the importance of community awareness in helping address such crimes.
Following the pursuit and arrest, officials stated that “Christopher Harris was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for his open warrants and charged with Bank Jugging. His bond and court information have not been set at this time.” Under House Bill 1902, which took effect on September 1, the offense is classified as a felony under Texas Penal Code 29.04. Information regarding Harris’s bond and upcoming court appearances has not yet been released as the case continues to be processed, as stated on the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.
