Houston is experiencing dense fog this weekend as a strong cold front moves through the area. The National Weather Service reports that visibility in some locations may be reduced to a quarter mile or less, with conditions expected to continue until around 10 a.m. A fog advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Drivers are advised to use low-beam headlights and exercise caution on the roads.

With a forecasted south wind around 5 mph, Houston may see showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, with a 30% chance of precipitation. Another period of showers and thunderstorms is anticipated after 1 a.m., with a 40% likelihood, which could reduce visibility again alongside patchy dense fog after 11 p.m. Temperatures are projected to reach a high near 74 degrees before the approaching cold front changes the weather conditions.

Click2Houston reports that a cold front moving through Houston will cause temperatures to drop into the 30s by Monday morning. Although the cold spell is expected to be brief, residents are advised to prepare for cooler conditions following a period of above-average warmth.

Sunday’s forecast calls for cloudy skies in the morning, with gradual clearing and temperatures falling to around 52 degrees by 5 p.m. A north wind of about 15 mph, gusting up to 25 mph, is expected to accompany the cooler conditions. Although an early forecast predicted a high in the mid-60s, temperatures throughout the day will feel closer to typical winter chill.

Looking ahead, Monday is forecasted to bring sunny skies with a high near 52 degrees. Tuesday is expected to be mostly cloudy, with temperatures rising to around 65 degrees by midweek. Another chance of showers is possible on Wednesday, followed by warmer temperatures, reaching the 70s again by Thursday.
