Houston residents can expect a break from the humid conditions as a cold front makes its way into the region, replacing milder air with a crisper and cooler start to the work week. According to FOX26 Houston, this change will usher in a quiet weather week with clear nights, and predominantly sunny days are on the horizon.
As the front settles late Sunday evening, temperatures are expected to plummet, indicating a chilly start to Monday morning, with digits expected to hover in the 40s. The upcoming work week is projected to remain uneventful weather-wise, with low chances of rain or storms, at least through Thursday. Temperatures will gradually increase, reaching the mid-70s by midweek.
A high-pressure system is slated to move over the area, stabilizing the atmosphere and bringing about a warming trend. The National Weather Service forecasts highs in the 63s for Tuesday and an ascent to 72 by Wednesday, before peaking near 76 on Thursday.
Furthermore, after recent rainfall, drought conditions in Northern Harris and Montgomery counties have shown improvements, shifting to merely dry conditions as opposed to full-fledged droughts. The majority of the Houston area, however, continues to grapple with drought, despite the meteorological amelioration. Nighttime conditions throughout the week will remain mostly clear, with lows oscillating from the low 40s on Tuesday to the higher 50s by Thursday night.
