
Mandalay Avenue in Clearwater is closed daily between Gardenia and Juniper streets from early morning to midafternoon for a reclaimed water system upgrade, a project expected to continue through the end of 2025. The intersection of Mandalay Avenue and Jessamine Circle is fully closed, with detours in place around the north beach area.
According to the City of Clearwater, Contractors have begun installing new reclaimed water mains along Pierce Street, Myrtle Avenue, and Franklin Street. Work is expected to affect lanes and sidewalks for about eight weeks, from late October through late December, depending on the weather. Crews will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Westbound Court Street will be reduced to one lane from South Prospect to South Garden avenues starting January 20 for sanitary sewer repairs. Drivers are advised to expect delays during peak hours and use alternative routes. Work will continue around the clock, weather permitting.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting road improvements, including the State Road 60 Courtney Campbell Causeway Pedestrian Overpass, with 24-hour lane closures expected through the end of 2025. U.S. 19 is undergoing repaving, realignments, sidewalk renovations, and lighting upgrades between Drew Street and Sunset Point Road, also expected to be completed by late 2025.
Sunset Point Road will have nightly closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. between McMullen Booth and Keene Road as part of a Pinellas County paving project, expected to continue into the new year, depending on the weather. Pedestrian access along the south side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway trail is blocked while crews build a new overpass connecting Bayshore Trail to the causeway trail, with completion anticipated in late 2026. Eastbound traffic near the construction zone will face 24-hour lane closures until the project is finished.
