On Tuesday afternoon, skeletal remains were found at 10100 Minnesota Street, prompting an investigation currently underway by the Houston Police. The remains, discovered at about 1:15 p.m., have yet to be identified, leaving the identity, gender, and cause of death to be determined by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, as per an official statement.
According to the same release, HPD Homicide Division Sergeants R. Watson and M. Burrow recount how the officers were called to the location after workers stumbled upon the remains in a wooded area. The immediate area turned into an impromptu crime scene as HPD homicide detectives and forensic investigators from Harris County attempted to piece together to how these remains came to rest there.
While the investigation into these found remains continues, officials urge the public to come forward with any pertinent information. Individuals with insights into the case may confidentially contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600. This could potentially aid detectives in piecing together the narrative of what appears to be an untimely demise, buried beneath the bustle of the city.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is set to play a crucial role, tasked with conducting a thorough autopsy of the remains. The goal is to conclusively establish the background of the skeleton – to offer a name to the nameless and possibly bring closure to a chapter that one might speculate, was involuntarily concluded. Answers are anticipated with the forthcoming results from the institute's meticulous examination.
