A 17-year-old juvenile male has been arrested and charged in connection with two shootings that occurred in Northeast Washington, D.C. last month. The Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrest for the incidents which left two individuals injured in separate events. The first shooting happened on October 31, 2025, prompting a police response to the 1300 block of 49th Street, Northeast, where a teenage male was found with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to a press release from the Metropolitan Police Department.
The second incident took place on November 11, when officers were once again called to handle a shooting, this time on the 1600 block of Kenilworth Avenue, Northeast. There, an adult male was discovered similarly injured, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was swiftly transported to an area hospital, also with non-life-threatening injuries. Following these events, the suspect was reportedly able to initially flee the scene undetected in both occurrences, as detailed by the Metropolitan Police Department.
On Sunday, Metropolitan Police Department officials reported that the juvenile was arrested pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order. He faces charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) for both October and November shootings as affirmed by the investigation led by detectives. The juvenile's identity has not been disclosed due to his age and the ongoing legal proceedings.
