In a culmination of a months-long probe dubbed “Operation Eastbound and Down – The Last Chapter,” the King County Sheriff's Office Precinct 4 Special Emphasis Team (SET) has struck a significant blow to the local arm of the Sinaloa Cartel, as documented in a social media post by the Burien Police Department.
The extensive investigation, which is a follow-up from the initial operation conducted in November 2025, led to the identification and subsequent arrest of a major regional supplier located in Lynnwood; this individual was a node in a larger network responsible for trafficking copious amounts of drugs through King, Snohomish, and Skagit counties, a meticulously executed operation outed an extensive drug ring, with the help of the indomitable K9 Quinn which led to the granting of a crucial search warrant.
Arrest teams, in a coordinated takedown, successfully apprehended a suspect who is now facing the stringent conditions of a $1 million bail at the Snohomish County Jail. The operation also unravelled materials including 214 pounds of Methamphetamine, 5 pounds of Heroin, and nearly $90,000 in cash, estimated to have been the proceeds of their illicit trade.
The combined magnitude of "Operation Eastbound and Down" in its entirety painted a grim portrait of the drug problem infiltrating our communities, where detectives intercepted a total of nearly 296 pounds of methamphetamine, over 22 pounds of fentanyl powder, alongside various other drugs and sizable amounts of cash all told, the recovered drugs and funds all pointing to the chilling efficiency of the widespread cartel operations.
Residents of the touched communities may find a semblance of solace in the operation’s success, yet the ever-present shadow of cartel influence looms persistently, with SET's investigations serving as a stark reminder of the relentless effort required to combat the tendrils of narcotic networks that relentlessly seek to root themselves in the soil of our streets.
